What is an Electromagnetic Record Substituted for a Card (Certificated function)?
This is issued based on the "Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures" (Act No. 27 of 2013), and consists of information recorded in the My Number Card of name, address, date of birth, etc. (including former surnames, etc.), and information to prove to the sender that the information is authentic and belongs to the sender. This makes it possible to load the information recorded in the My Number Card onto a smartphone and use the smartphone to perform identity verification.
By storing the information in the smartphone and sending it to the other party, the smartphone alone can prove the identity of the person.
